Software Architecture of 3D Slicer applied to locate SEEG electrodes
Abstract
This paper present the architecture of 3DSlicer, its potentiality and simplicity in the construction of modules. For this, theoretical aspects are described and the development of a module for electrode positioning in stereo-electroencephalography (SEEG) is detailed. This application is currently one of the most used free platforms for the management of medical images, being a very complete tool for the generation of new programmable modules, which satisfy the functionalities required by health professionals. In this sense, it is intended to provide a set of theoretical and practical tools to promote the use of free software tools in medical images.
