Method to detect muscle fatigue using hand tools in the pruning of fruit trees

Abstract

The frequency analysis of the EMG signal is a useful tool to detect muscle fatigue. This kind of analysis improves performance workers while they are fruit pruning, also the athletes to not develop muscle damage. This paper was motivated to develop an analysis to detect muscle fatigue in upper limbs in workers at vine using hand tools in the pruning of fruit trees. To achieve that objective, it has analyzed the EMG signal of the muscle activity during the fruit pruning at workers of a vine called Ára during a 8 hours workday picked up by superficial electrodes.

In this study is explain the way to processed the spectral signal to detect muscle fatigue.  Finally, we believe that it is convenient to do more similar experiences to compare the efficiency of different pruning shears in several kind of pruning activities.
