Electromyography sensor for wearable multi-channel platform

Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of an EMG sensor for a wearable multi-channel biopotential acquisition system. The proposed sensor includes a reference and driven-right-leg circuit with components that limit the direct and alternating currents separately to comply with the international standard IEC 60601-1 while still achieving a high interference rejection, considering the number of channels of the system. Experimental measurements of gain, common mode rejection and noise were made, along with electromyogram recordings. In addition, bench tests were carried out that verify the limits of the currents in single-fault condition.
