Bio-feedback of Kegel exercises using Bluetooth® electromyography in premature ejaculation

Abstract

In this project, the design of an electromyography equipment for home use is proposed to obtain a bio-feedback of the correct performance of Kegel exercises, motivated by clinical investigations carried out on male patients with premature ejaculation. These investigations show an increase in the ejaculatory latency time as a result of performing these exercises. Finally, a portable and use-friendly prototype was manufactured, which sends the myoelectric signal detected in the pubococcygeus muscles wirelessly to receiving devices. These latter devices are simply responsible for showing this signal in a graphic or image easily understandable to the patient.
