Abstract

The study of human gait is a set of measurements and analytical processes in order to determine the normal biomechanical parameters of the dynamic motion translating human processes. There are different methods to determine these parameters. This work, carried out as a matter of applied research, involved the implementation of a simple system for determining the distance between steps in a normal walking and speed in steps per minute, based on a potentiometric method. The data acquisition for obtaining these parameters is performed by a microcontroller ATmega328, and using a free software calculation. Samples were taken on a table with metal strips evenly distributed, interconnected resistors and fed a low voltage source.
